To carry forward the Chinese nation’s traditional virtue “Respecting and honoring the elderly”, practice the core socialist values, enhance the sense of responsibility of the Company's young people in serving society, and call on the young people to strive to become good-natured ones who make progress in the new era, the Party Branch, League Branch and Trade Union of Pingxiang Company (the Company) paid a visit to Yuannan Township Nursing Home on May 22, in order to carry out the youth activity "Respecting the Elderly in May, Warming the Hearts of the Sunset".
At the beginning of the activity, Secretary of the Party Branch of Pingxiang Company Zhang Dawei and Deputy Secretary Gan Luanluan, together with a group of young people, distributed summer clothing and other materials to the elderly, in addition to inquiring and learning about the living situation and physical condition of the elderly, listening carefully to their emotional needs, and urging them to take good care of their health and maintain a good attitude. The deep-felt greetings and sincere blessings made the elderly smile with happiness on their faces.
Subsequently, guided by the staff of the nursing home, all guests visited the living environment of the elderly and helped the elderly clean the yard. Everyone had a cordial conversation with the elderly, learned about their daily lives, and urged the elderly to maintain a healthy and positive attitude and enjoy their remaining time.
Finally, the staff of the nursing home and the young people organized a relay game of passing flowers. All persons present cooperated to perform wonderful programs, for example, singing, reciting, and martial arts performance full of energy, which aroused intermittent bursts of applause and laughter on site.
Through this activity, the Company not only enhanced the CPC members and league members’ awareness of respecting and honoring the elderly, but further strengthened the employees’ sense of social responsibility and confidence in inheriting the virtues of the Chinese nation. In the next step, Pingxiang Company will always bear in mind its aspiration to become an enterprise with social responsibility and enthusiasm, practice its original mission in a down-to-earth manner, and fulfill the social responsibilities and commitments of a key state-owned enterprise.
